What are you up to this summer? Fancy doing something that’s a once in a life time opportunity?

If the answer is yes, then join our National Citizenship Service (NCS) programme that will see you kept busy over the summer break. The NCS programme is a national once in a lifetime programme for all 16-17 year olds allowing them to experience new experiences and meet new people.

With a residential stay for two weeks in July, coming home for the weekend you will get the opportunity to take part in fun exciting outdoor activities for week one. Activities from previous programmes have included: mountain biking, rock climbing, night trekking, bush craft and kayaking.

The following week will include independent living where you will get the chance to experience what it is like to live like a student and learn key life skills at Lancaster University.

To finish the programme you will be back in Accrington, planning and delivering a project that will benefit the local community.

After all this you will come out of the project with a qualification that is approved by UCAS and can help on achieving your goal of moving onto University or College. As well as gaining skills that are recognised by employers which will aid you in any job application you put forward.
