Accrington Stanley Community Trust have secured a grant of £7730 from Sport England to develop the new Accrington Stanley Girls and Ladies grass roots football club.

The funding will focus on increasing female participation with the aim of creating a development team and eventually a junior section. A number of volunteers will be enrolled onto FA Coaching courses and participants will benefit from additional opportunities.

Martin Fearon, Community Trust Manager and Chairman of Accrington Stanley Ladies said ‘We are looking forward to developing Accrington Stanley Ladies with the support of Sport England and all of our partners and sponsors. We are in the early stages of developing the new club but we are well on the way to achieving our aims. The club will go from strength to strength over the next few months and we will shortly be announcing details of the new development team’.
