A record £1.9m was invested into the local community by the Charity in 2019.

Martin Fearon, CEO of Accrington Stanley Community Trust said:

‘‘2019 has been another remarkable year for the Charity. We have engaged a record 21,861 people from our local community in a variety of projects and events. The £2m Stanley Sports Hub community facility is very close to full completion after construction works began in May 2019. Our new £750,000 3G Pitch opened in October 2019 and currently averages over 1000 participants every week.

We were also crowned Hyndburn Business of the Year alongside Accrington Stanley Football Club which is a fantastic achievement and one that we are all very proud of.

I would like to thank all of our funders, partners, staff and volunteers who have enabled us to achieve our aims and objectives this year. We are actively delivering over 30 community projects which are vital to so many people in our community.

We have some exciting plans for 2020 which coincide with our 10-year anniversary and we look forward to announcing them in the near future.’’

9 years on from inception, the Charity has now raised over £4.5million, and with this has been able to develop and deliver a varied repertoire of projects and programmes, successfully engaging over 20,000 people over the last 12 months across the areas of Hyndburn, the Ribble Valley and Rossendale.

2020 is set to be the Charity’s biggest year to date with the opening of the new £2m Stanley Sports Hub Facility at Higham Playing Fields. It is also the 10-year anniversary of the Charity and there are plans ahead to mark this milestone with a number of fundraising events.
