Our week at the Trust has flown by with all the preparation for the match on Saturday which could see Stanley getting promoted to League One.
We have Anneliese’s birthday party taking place before the match on Saturday as well as having two grass root teams, the under 7’s and under 8’s from Burnley Wolves, that will be the guard of honour and five mascots, Peter Murphy, Sam Murphy, Shay Moran, Stanley Tombs and Ewan Bond, that will walk out with the players and have a mini training session on the pitch while the players warm up.
Before the match we have a stall in the fan zone which will see our members of staff face painting, giving leaflets out to what the Trust has to offer and running the penalty shootout! Come and visit us and show off your penalty taking skills and a chance to meet Winstanley!!
Our Spring National Citizenship Service (NCS) students will be graduating at half time on the pitch. They have completed all phases of the programme, from going away for a week on the residential to planning their social action to carrying it out. Last Saturday saw the last group complete their social action with a sponsored walk along the canal from Blackburn to Accrington. Well done to all of the students for completing this once in a life time opportunity.

Our Redz Youth Club on Wednesday night spent the night decoration cupcakes and of course trying their creations! Redz runs every Wednesday during term time for 2 hours from 5.30pm till 7.30pm for four to twelve years. It allows them to be involved with different activities in safe environment and they get to meet new children and form new friendships. ‘It’s amazing how children who, when they first started didn’t know each other and were shy, become best friends at the club’ commented Sarah Hunt Redz administrator.

We have spaces available for new teams to join our very popular Stanley Soccer League.
The Stanley Soccer League is a professionally managed small sided league which was set up in Accrington in 2011. The ultimate test for your 7 a-side team is to join one of our leagues. We have leagues on a Monday running at Accrington Academy and a Wednesday running from Hyndburn leisure Centre
The Stanley Soccer League sees all matches played on state of the art 3G field turf. Matches are played across a third of a pitch with 7 a-side goals at either end. Referees and a league co-ordinator are provided to ensure we offer a great service to our teams. Prizes are fantastic and see your full team invited to an Accrington Stanley match and presented with a trophy at half time in front of thousands of supporters. There are also prizes throughout the year from our league sponsors.
There is no registration fee and a low weekly cost of £25 per team, making us the cheapest league in the area. 24 teams compete in each of the Monday and Wednesday divisions.
