Armed Forces Champion

Armed Forces Champion

Accrington Stanley Community Trust (ASCT) has appointed its first Armed Forces Champion. Jaqui Collins, a local Girl, completed 32 years’ Service in the Royal Military Police, achieving the rank of Warrant Officer Class 1. She served in Northern Ireland, Cyprus, Bosnia, Germany & UK.

Since her Retirement from the Forces in 2014, in her spare time, Jaqui, together with Family & Friends has raised approximately £80,000 for various Charities, including our 4 local Hospices, Cancer Research & Macmillan. Animal Charities also benefitted.

In 2017, she became the 26th Altruistic Kidney Donor in the UK. She doesn’t know the identity of the person who received her Kidney.

Jaqui told us her passion is helping fellow Veterans & the new role at ASCT is something she is very excited about. She has a wealth of knowledge regarding Military Charities & has been employed as a Project Officer for Veterans In Communities & as the Older Veterans Outreach Worker for Age UK Lancs.

ASCT currently host a Monthly Veterans Breakfast Club, held on the last Wednesday of the month between 0930-1100hrs at the Carers Link Café on Blackburn Rd and every Wednesday we host a Social/Football event between 1700-1900hrs at Stanley Sports Hub on Thorneyholme Rd BB5 5BD. All Veterans, serving personnel & their families are welcome to attend.
