BRGS Win the Girls Cup Local Finals

Our Girls Cup winners for 2015 are Bacup & Rawtenstall Grammar School. They will go on to represent Accrington Stanley Football Club at the Football League Girls Cup Regional Finals in January.

Our local Girls cup competition had a brilliant turn out. 10 teams from 10 schools made their way to Accrington Academy to battle for the chance to play in the National Finals for Accrington Stanley.

After winning the local finals on the 15th October BRGS went on to beat strong competition from Haslingden High School in the Final at the Wham Stadium. The torrential down pour of rain did not drop the girl’s spirits and all schools did themselves proud. Haslingden High came away with second place and All Saints high with 3rd.

Women & Girls Officer Amy Bland explains “I can’t give enough credit for all the teams, especially the girls that played on Accrington Stanley’s pitch at half time. Big congratulations to BRGS, next stop the National Finals!!”
