Everyone loses when you step on the track.

Everyone loses when you step on the track.

Did you know that 25,000 volts of electricity run through the overhead cables that power your train? Or that this power can jump? Or that trains can silently reach speeds of 125mph? Or that the power for the railway is never turned off?

Stepping on the tracks can result in life changing injuries…and your friends and family will also be left with the consequences.

That’s why Accrington Stanley is proudly supporting EFL Trust and the You Vs Train campaign, to educate our young people about dangers on the railway.

Our community is at the heart of everything we do so we are asking that you help us to share this vital message, talk to your children and help to keep this community safe.

As part of our National Citizenship Service (NCS) the young people on our summer programme received an educational workshop on the dangers of playing near/on the railway. The workshop made them think that it isn’t just the person that plays on the tracks that is effected it is the people around them as well as the railway staff that are effected. They took part in a railway quiz which corrected a lot of thoughts of what is true about a railway line for example just how much power runs through the overhead cables.

The EFL Trust is working in partnership with the rail industry to ensure our future generations understand the dangers and make the right choice to stay off the track.
