Fields in Trust Give Approval for Sports Hub

Fields in Trust has given Accrington Stanley Community Trust their approval for the Higham Playing Fields Sports Hub development.

Fields in Trust received the application for consent in March 2018 and it has now been fully assessed by the Land and Planning Committee who have decided to approve the project subject to contracts being signed.

This now gives Accrington Stanley Community Trust (ASCT) the green light to develop the site following the planning approval in December 2017.

Martin Fearon, CEO at ASCT said ‘’we are delighted to receive Fields in Trust’s approval for the Sports Hub facility development at Higham Playing Fields. This is fantastic news for Hyndburn as we now have the go ahead to build the facility which will benefit thousands of local people. We are really looking forward to strengthening our relationship with Fields in Trust and creating a fantastic facility for the Hyndburn community to enjoy.

The sports hub will play a big part in increasing participation in sport, reducing obesity levels and providing a top class facility for all members of our community.’’

Miles Parkinson, Leader of Hyndburn Council added ‘’this is great news for the borough. A fantastic sports facility for everybody to enjoy. This is a big investment for Hyndburn and we are all delighted to hear the good news from Fields in Trust’’.
