First Veterans Breakfast Club

First Veterans Breakfast Club

On Wednesday morning we were delighted to see a great turnout at the first meeting of our Veterans’ Breakfast Club at Carers Link in Accrington town centre.

Working alongside Veterans in the Community (VIC), the Carers Link Café was at full capacity as plenty of veterans attended for a butty and a brew priced at £3. Tea and coffee weren’t the only things flowing as conversation was rife for the full hour and a half on a thoroughly enjoyable morning.

We also used the opportunity to ask what other provisions would be useful for the community and all answers will be considered as we aim to make a difference to the local area.

Project manager Lee Walsh commented “It was great to see so many people there for the first meeting of our Veterans Breakfast Club, it gave us the opportunity to speak to local people and provided inspiration for future veterans activities.”

Veterans Breakfast Club will continue to take place on the final Wednesday of each month.

Thank you very much to Burnley in the Community, First Light Trust, Healthier Heroes. Armed Forces Covenant, Homes for Humanity and Age UK for supporting us in establishing this.
