Kerry wins Volunteer of the Year award

Friday saw the Hyndburn Community Sports awards take place at Accrington Town Hall. The awards celebrate the local sporting activities and the people that dedicate their time into supporting them.

One of our BTEC students and Accrington Stanley ladies defender, Kerry Reeves, who has fast become a positive role model, was nominated for her dedication to women and girls football. Over her two years at Accrington Stanley she has volunteered on several of our girl’s sessions, helping to increase participant numbers and has started to plan some of the sessions to gain increase her experience.

We are delighted that all her hard work has been recognised by others outside of Accrington Stanley Community Trust.

Elle Kayley, Female Coordinator commentated, ‘Kerry has and continues to show great ability to coach and inspire the next generation of sports women. It’s great to see her hard work being recognised.’

Kerry is now being nominated for ‘Volunteer of the Year’ at the Lancashire Sports award in Blackpool.  We all wish her the best of luck!
