NCS Graduates Check in to Stanley’s Checkatrade Journey

A team of well deserving National Citenzen Service (NCS) autumn graduates were given the opportunity to attend the Checkatrade trophy fixture against West Bromwich U21 on Tuesday 6th November 2018 thanks to tickets provided by Checkatrade.

The students had completed a residential trip, life skills workshops along with their social action planning and delivery for two charities, The Tree of Hope and the mental health charity Mind.

The students from Accrington and Rossendale College and Accrington Academy joined together to collect their certificates signed by the prime minister and presented by ASFC player Offrande Zanzala and Graham Jones MP at half time on the pitch.

Kathryn Hoyle NCS Manager says “Extremely proud of all the young people’s efforts, the amount of team work and enthusiasm they have put into the programme has been phenomenal. It’s great to be able to provide them this opportunity.’

Checkatrade offers tickets to Community Trusts to give to participants on their programmes a chance to see their team play. The majority of the participants wouldn’t normally get the opportunity to attend a football match.
