NEW & FREE! Junior Disability Sports

Starting Saturday 13th July our weekly Junior Disability Sports session is moving to a saturday morning 10:30-11:30am and will be held at St Christopher’s High School, BB5 4AY.

In January 2019 Accrington Stanley Community Trust launched their Junior Disability Sports Session supported by BBC Children in Need!

The project provides opportunities for disabled children and young people to improve their overall physical and mental health & wellbeing, by taking part in a range of new activities that help children learn about the benefits that sport and physical activity can bring.

Children and young people attending the project will have more opportunities to mix with their peers, to have fun and take part in a wide range of activities of their choosing which help them bond and make friends.

Martin Fearon, Chief Executive Officer at Accrington Stanley Community Trust said; “We could not reach out to as many disabled young people in Hyndburn without the support of BBC Children in Need. This grant will enable us to make a positive impact on the lives of so many young people, and give them the support they need.”

The sessions are a  fun way to learn new skills and help you develop physically and socially. Sessions cover a range of sports  and are engaging for children with a wide range of disabilities . You are able to turn up on the night, no booking needed.

The sessions are completely free and are held every Saturday morning at St Christopher’s High School, Saturdays 10:30-11:30am.
