Run & Recycle!

Accrington Stanley’s Community Trust has gone recycling mad while also helping to increase participation in sport for schools.

The Trust has teamed up with RecycleIT and have provided three Hyndburn primary schools in All Saints, Peel Park and Huncoat with a container for pupils and teachers to put old IT equipment in.

all saintsThese will be collected each term and converted into cash – 50 per cent raised will go to the Trust, which is a charity, as they aim to improve sporting opportunities for all corners of the local community.

The remaining money will be converted into school sports vouchers for free sessions to be delivered in school, with the aim of increasing sports participation within the school.

Huncoat Primary School were the latest to sign up where Stanley star Andy Procter donated an old mobile phone to start off the project.

Midfielder Procter said: “It’s great the club can help out on a project like this, recycling is obviously very important and if doing so raises children’s participation in sport then even better.”

RecycleIT is one of the UK’s leading IT disposal and asset management service providers.
