Sports Equipment Giveaway

Sports Equipment Giveaway

Over the last couple of weeks Accrington Stanley Community Trust has distributed £5000 worth of sports equipment to local families. Our aim is to facilitate more sport and activity in children’s homes as we see grassroots sport pause again for the national lockdown. The equipment includes balls, ladders, hurdles, bean bags, frisbees, comes and even football goals.

The equipment has been very kindly donated by sports retailer Sports Direct in partnership with the Professional Footballers Association (PFA)

The PFA entered into a 3-year Sports Equipment partnership with Sports Direct in 2019 to distribute free sports equipment to Community Club Foundations throughout the English Football League.

Sports Directory are delivering the Sports Equipment Packs on behalf of Sportsdirect.com, who are the Official Community Equipment Sponsor of the PFA. Community Club Foundations from the English Football League (Community Support Partnerships) receive free equipment, which includes footballs, goals, training equipment and other sport equipment.

‘’The PFA in partnership with Sports Directory are delighted to be able to offer EFL Community Club Foundations the opportunity to access free sports equipment to distribute for the benefit of the wider community. You can’t underestimate the power of sport and football in particular to effect positive change for the future of generations to come’’.  John Hudson – PFA Director of Corporate Social Responsibility.

We are very pleased to be able to deliver the sports equipment to all of the Community Support Partnerships that have opted to receive the packs. We have had very positive feedback from clubs and we can’t wait to see the equipment in action and the difference the packs will make in terms of promoting sport, inclusion and healthy living in the community.” –Sports Directory

‘’It’s amazing we can offer all this top of the range sports equipment to local families so they can stay active and healthy in their home environment, especially at a time when children’s sport has been halted by the national lockdown.’’ Lee Walsh Head of Sport- Stanley Trust
