Stanley Duo go back to school

Two Stanley stars, Billy Kee and Jordan Clark, took part in the Kinder Move and Learn session about exercise and fitness as well as dribbling in football at St Andrews Primary School in Oswaldtwistle. Kee and Clark helped lead the practical aspect of the session showing the students how to perfect a perfect dribble past the opposition player!

The duo took part in a tough question and answer session about how they got in to football and what age they got into it as well as asking who was the hardest team they have faced this season, they both agreed that Luton were the toughest opposition, they then went on to answer questions are about the lesson topic of exercise and fitness.

‘We would like to thank Billy Kee and Jordan Clark for taking time out of their day to visit our session at St Andrews. The children love having the players visit them as it helps them apply the theory they are learning in the classroom to a real life sporting example,’ said Josh Cooper, Community Sport Officer

The Kinder +Sport Move and Learn Project is part of Ferrero’s global Kinder+Sport initiative designed to encourage an active lifestyle in children across the world, and has already reached 15m children. Targeted at primary school children aged between nine and ten years old, the programme combines six weeks of practical sporting sessions with classroom based activities.

During each 90-minute session, children will learn about the body, diet, nutrition, the importance of exercise and food groups and take part in a practical session of football, handball and dodgeball.

A spokesperson from Ferrero said: “We want to have a lasting impact on the activity levels and happiness of young people. Active children are more likely to grow into active adults, so we are passionate about inspiring future generations to embrace physical exercise and find the joy of living.

By working with such fantastic clubs, and having the generous support of their players and staff, we are making a real difference in ensuring children understand just how important it is to adopt a balanced diet alongside regular physical activity.”
