Our Stanley kickers sessions focuses on the fun and enjoyment of each individual child. We work on a range of different topics from dribbling to passing and shooting.
Our primary goal is to develop the children’s fundamental movement skills and their ABCs (Agility, Balance, Coordination, Speed). These skills provide them with the basic fundamentals of movement, which will help them develop in a range of sports.
The sessions also use football as a means to achieve the following:
- Improve body awareness, mobility and fitness.
- Improve balance and coordination.
- Develop initial literacy and numeracy skills.
- Increase self-confidence.
- Build self-esteem.
- Learn to share and take turns.
Our carefully planned programme is about a great deal more than just developing your child’s affinity with football, it is about giving them a well-rounded start in their physical, social and educational development and developing the ‘whole child’.
Our weekly Stanley kickers session is held on a Saturday morning at St Christopher’s High School for all 2 to 4 year olds but we also deliver in local nurseries such as Educare for Early Years, Brockhall and at Little Bells Pre School, Belthorn where we have been working with the children for the past few months.
The children have gone from strength to strength and their confidence has soared since week one of the course. They now have the confidence to ask questions, understand the basics of football skills and work together in basic group tasks. ‘The Children thoroughly enjoyed the session, they are always excited to see Elle and talk about her lots’ said Becky, Nursery Manager
Coach Elle says “It’s a pleasure to work with the children at Educare, they are such a warm and welcome nursery and the children’s confidence and ability has improved significantly. Not only that, their listening and communication skills have also improved and it’s a delight to see them enjoying themselves”.
