Stanley Students are Flying in Fleetwood.

On a hot July day at the Fylde coast, a group of our brand new Accrington Stanley Football College future students traveled to Fleetwood town’s First team training ground to take part in a 9v9 competition against other north west clubs such as Preston, Blackpool, Carlisle, Crewe, Wigan and Fleetwood.

The A’s (Red) progressed to the final of their side of the competition and narrowly lost on penalties despite the goalkeeper making some outstanding saves during the shootouts.

The B’s (White) went undefeated throughout the day but just couldn’t squeeze themselves over the line to progress further in the competition.

Our Football College Head Coach Matt Parkinson commented “I’m really pleased with the way our students came together and competed throughout the day. They all showed a desire to play as part of a team rather than individuals which gives us a positive way to head into pre- season”

New Student Charlie Hulse commented “It was great to be involved in this tournament as it was the first time we’ve all played together. I’m really looking forward to starting pre season in Ausgust and starting college in September”

It was great to see our new students in a football environment and we thanks Fleetwood town for the hospitality.

There are still places remaining on our full time Football College so APPLY NOW below.
