Summer holiday fun

Summer holiday fun

This summer we welcomed our holiday courses to their new home for the summer months at our new Stanley Sports Hub.

Mid way through already we have seen over 150 faces, old and new make there way through the Hub doors to either our soccer camp or activity club.

Soccer camp has been making the most of the 3G pitch learning and practising skills such as ball control, dribbling and much more, before they put what they have learnt into small sided games. The coaches have been using an array of fun activities and games to help develop and teach the children the techniques such as castles and king of the ring.

Josh Cooper, Soccer School coach commented’ As the weeks go on the progress that we see in the players continues to increase, as well as their confidence in their own ability.’

Meanwhile activity club have been visiting the park, getting crafty, playing sports on the 3g pitch as well as making the most of the sunshine by having a water fight and ganging up on the coaches. On the wetter days they have had movie days and dance competitions. This club is a more relaxed atmosphere where we encourage the children to work together in small groups to encourage skills acquisition and decision making.

Lee Walsh, Head of Sport said, ‘It’s been brilliant to have the holiday courses back up and running after last year and to see so many new and old faces having fun and developing their footballing skills’.

We still have availability for the last couple of weeks of the summer, with pick up times from either 3pm or 5pm as well as an early drop off from 8.30am.

If your 4 to 12 year old is looking for something to do then get them book on to one of our holiday courses at www.stanleytrust.co.uk
