Trust participate in Ron Hill 10k

This Sunday saw staff of the community trust take part in the OMC Motor Group Ron Hill Accrington 10k to raise money for the charity, with the first staff member crossing the line just over 50 minutes!

Winstanley was on hand before the race started, meeting runners and their families .

The run named after the famous Accrington’s famous athlete, who won the commonwealth games and European championship marathons. The annual race organised by Cannonball events, saw over 500 runners from all walks of life take part in both the fun run and 10k. The weather held off and saw the runners start off outside the town hall, down Blackburn road making their way towards the old railway line, climbing up Manchester road before descending their way back down the Accrington streets towards the town hall finish line.

Lee Walsh commented, ‘it was great to be an official partner of the event and get Winstanley out and about meeting local people, for many of our staff it was their first 10k and most of us really enjoyed it!’
