Our Ambassadors are active advocates for the Trust, helping raise awareness, build relationships and inspire more people to engage with our work.

Ambassador

David Dunn

Born in Great Harwood, David Dunn enjoyed a distinguished career as a professional footballer and coach and now brings his experience and passion for the game to his role as an ASCT Ambassador.

Best known for his long association with Blackburn Rovers, David made more than 370 appearances over two spells and earned an England cap in 2002. He has also worked in coaching and management with clubs including Oldham Athletic, Blackpool and Barrow.

David has remained proud of his Hyndburn roots and supports the Trust’s work across sport, education, health and inclusion.

Marc Pugh

Born in Bacup, Marc Pugh is a former professional footballer best known for his influential spell at AFC Bournemouth, where he played a major role in the club’s rise from League One to the Premier League.

Following his playing career, Marc has continued to promote fitness, nutrition and wellbeing and uses his platform to encourage healthier, more balanced lifestyles.

As an ASCT Ambassador, he supports the Trust’s work in health, education and community development.

Anne Ellwood

Anne Ellwood is a highly respected figure in community sport with more than 30 years of experience across sports development, education and women’s football.

She was instrumental in establishing Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life, was a pioneer in women’s and girls’ football and was recognised nationally as an Olympic Torch Bearer in 2012.

Anne joined the ASCT Board in 2017 and later served as Chair of Trustees, contributing significantly to the Trust’s growth, governance and community impact.

Ivor Lefton is Managing Director of Taskers of Accrington and has played a key role in modernising the business while preserving its strong local heritage and community roots.

His support as a Patron reflects a longstanding commitment to Hyndburn and to creating positive opportunities for local people.

Stuart Rogan is Managing Director of HML Recycling, an Accrington-based business with a strong focus on sustainability, community impact and local investment.

Barry Gavahan is Chief Executive of DES Group, a facilities management and electrical services provider with a strong commitment to quality, skills development and local investment.
