Board of Trustees.

Purves joined the Board of Trustees in January 2018 and brings extensive business and enterprise experience. An experienced freelance business adviser and business development consultant, he has supported organisations across the North West with business planning, project management, marketing, training, grants and funding.

His experience includes work with organisations such as the Business Enterprise Trust, Oldham Chamber of Commerce, University of Central Lancashire, Burnley College, Growth Lancashire and Accrington Stanley.

Purves is also Chair of Whinney Hill Football Club, a governor at Accrington Academy and has longstanding experience as a senior football scout. He was appointed Chair of Trustees in March 2024.

Peter was appointed to the Board of Trustees in July 2020. Born and bred in Bolton, he has a longstanding interest in sport and represented Old Boltonians AFC for more than 25 years, as well as serving as Chair of Eagley Tennis Club.

Before taking early retirement, Peter worked in senior sales and key-account roles, including as a Key Account Director for a major European building products manufacturer, with earlier roles at TNT and The Guardian.

Peter is also Chair of the Official Accrington Stanley Supporters Trust and supports projects around the football club that benefit supporters. He was appointed Vice-Chair of Trustees in March 2026.

Warren was appointed to the Board of Trustees in January 2025 as the designated representative of Accrington Stanley Football Club.

As Chief Executive Officer of Accrington Stanley Football Club, Warren provides an important strategic link between the football club and the Community Trust.

Tom joined Accrington Stanley Community Trust as a trustee in April 2018. He qualified as a solicitor in 2005 after completing his Legal Practice Course at the University of Central Lancashire.

A partner at Farleys, Tom specialises in commercial property, including acquisitions and disposals, development work, landlord and tenant matters, refinancing transactions and property aspects of corporate transactions.

Tom has a keen passion for sport and is also a director of Accrington Stanley Football Club. His legal expertise supports the Trust across governance, property and development matters.

Accrington born and bred, John is a Director of Haworths Financial Services Limited and joined Accrington Stanley Community Trust as a trustee in March 2018.

John has a longstanding involvement in local sport and community organisations. He previously helped negotiate the merger that created the East Lancashire Football Alliance and is now President of the league.

John is passionate about local sporting provision and supporting the Trust to achieve its charitable aims. He served as Vice-Chair of Trustees from March 2024 to March 2026.

Carl was appointed to the Board of Trustees in November 2021 with a focus on human resources. A lifelong Hyndburn resident, he spent much of his career with Lancashire County Council in HR roles supporting schools and wider council services.

Carl has also been heavily involved in local grassroots football, including roles with Accrington Girls and Ladies FC and Accrington Stanley Community Trust Ladies and Girls FC.

He is an active volunteer at Hyndburn parkrun and is passionate about creating opportunities for people to participate in sport.

John was appointed to the Board of Trustees in September 2023 and brings more than 20 years of marketing experience.

As Marketing & Frameworks Director at Alliance Leisure, his work aligns closely with the Trust’s ambition to improve lives through participation in sport and exercise, supporting leisure facilities and marketing strategies across the UK.

John lives in the Ribble Valley and is active in local sport as a coach, parent and referee. He is also a school governor at St Christopher’s High School. In January 2025, Education was added to his trustee portfolio.

Chris joined the Board of Trustees in July 2022 and brings more than 30 years of health and safety management experience across a wide range of sectors and events.

He has particular experience of health and safety in football club and academy environments and has held senior roles within the Institution of Occupational Safety & Health in the North West.

Chris is Managing Director and Principal Consultant of a health and safety consultancy business. As a Hyndburn resident, he brings local knowledge alongside specialist professional expertise.

Ram joined the Board of Trustees in December 2025 and brings more than 25 years of leadership, digital transformation and technology innovation experience.

As founder and CEO of Nybble, Ram has supported organisations across multiple sectors to modernise systems, strengthen cybersecurity and use technology to improve performance.

Ram is a strong advocate for education, opportunity and investment in local communities and contributes expertise in governance, innovation and strategic planning.

Kimberley joined the Board of Trustees in June 2026, bringing extensive experience across local government, community safety and public service.

She serves as Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner for Lancashire, supporting Prevention and Partnerships, governance and scrutiny, alongside more than 20 years of experience in the utilities sector.

Born and raised in East Lancashire, Kimberley is passionate about creating opportunities for local people and has championed investment in grassroots sport, community facilities and initiatives that bring people together.
