Community Engagement
Veterans Support Hub
A 3-year funded Veterans Support Hub project provides regular access to sport and physical activity alongside social activities as with our existing veterans support programme, however we then work with each individual beneficiary to develop a personalised support programme which sees us put in place strategies to help that person to deal with their own issues with addiction, whether that be from substances, alcohol or gambling or a combination of all 3.
We work with each individual to co-develop an approach which works, which combines mental health and wellbeing support, employability help, resilience and coping strategies, the development of peer support networks and the opportunity to take part in positive family-friendly activities

Martin Fearon, CEO of Accrington Stanley Community Trust said:
‘’we’re extremely proud to be delivering this vital project in our community and would like to thank the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust for their fantastic support. The 3-year Veterans Support Hub provides longevity to the project which can then be embedded into our work over the long term.’’
The funding has allowed us to offer these activities completely free of charge and we encourage all military veterans and serving personnel to come and get involved.
We are continuously looking to grow our programmes and are always open to networking with other services, if you feel like you would like to know more or have a veteran you could refer into our Support Hub please dont hesitate to contact us
‘‘ The Support Hub has given us the opportunity to offer a range of services and support to local Veterans and their families. We can now offer a range of activities from football to walking therapies, whilst also supporting them through employability, workshops and any mental health struggles. ‘
