Ambassadors
Our Ambassadors are passionate and committed advocates who actively promote the charity’s mission, goals, and initiatives. As representatives of the charity, our Ambassadors help raise awareness, build relationships, and drive engagement with new supporters, donors, and volunteers. Our Ambassadors serve as key liaisons between the charity and the community, offering guidance, support, and influence to help the charity achieve its objectives.

David Dunn
Born in Great Harwood, Hyndburn, David Dunn enjoyed a distinguished career as a professional footballer and coach, and now brings his experience and passion for the game to his role as an Ambassador for Accrington Stanley Community Trust.
David is best known for his long association with Blackburn Rovers, where he made more than 370 appearances over two spells and earned an England cap in 2002. His playing career also included time with Birmingham City, before he moved into coaching and management with clubs including Oldham Athletic, Blackpool, and Barrow.
Despite his career taking him to the top levels of English football, David has always remained proud of his Hyndburn roots and understands the importance of giving back to the local community. As an Ambassador, he supports the Trust’s work in promoting sport, education, health, and inclusion, helping to inspire the next generation to reach their potential both on and off the pitch.

Marc Pugh
Born in Bacup, Lancashire, Marc Pugh is a former professional footballer best known for his influential spell at AFC Bournemouth, where he played a major role in the club’s remarkable rise from League One to the Premier League.
Marc began his career at Burnley before building valuable experience with clubs including Bury, Shrewsbury Town, and Hereford United. His breakthrough came in 2010 with Bournemouth, where his consistent performances and eye for goal made him a fan favourite and the club’s top scorer in his first two seasons. Over nearly a decade with the Cherries, he became a key part of their journey to the top flight.
Following his time at Bournemouth, Marc went on to represent Hull City, Queens Park Rangers, and Shrewsbury Town before retiring from professional football.
Off the pitch, Marc is passionate about fitness, nutrition, and wellbeing, using his platform to inspire others to lead healthier, more balanced lifestyles. As an Ambassador for Accrington Stanley Community Trust, he supports the organisation’s work in promoting health, education, and community development, helping to encourage positive habits and opportunities across Hyndburn and beyond.

Our Patrons serve as prominent supporters and advocates for the charity’s mission, vision, and goals. As a public face of the organisation, the Patron is responsible for helping raise the charity’s profile, promoting its work, and encouraging donations and partnerships. Our Patrons work closely with the board and senior leadership team, offering guidance, expertise, and influence to further the charity’s objectives.

Ivor Lefton
Ivor Lefton is the Managing Director of Taskers of Accrington, one of the North West’s most respected independent furniture retailers. Since joining the company in 2001 as the first non-family board member, Ivor has played a key role in modernising the business while preserving its proud heritage and community roots.
Under his leadership, Taskers has undergone significant showroom refurbishments and product range expansions, ensuring the brand remains a leading name in quality home furnishings. His strategic vision and focus on customer experience have helped the company thrive in a constantly evolving retail landscape.
Beyond his professional achievements, Ivor is a strong believer in traditional customer service values and long-term relationships—with both staff and suppliers. His support as a Patron of Accrington Stanley Community Trust reflects his commitment to giving back to the local community and helping to create positive opportunities across the Hyndburn area.

Stuart Rogan
Stuart Rogan is the Managing Director of HML Recycling, a leading metal recycling company based in Accrington that has become a trusted name in sustainable waste management across the North West. With a strong focus on environmental responsibility and community impact, Stuart has guided HML Recycling to combine eco-friendly innovation with local investment and employment opportunities.
Under his leadership, the business has grown significantly, earning a reputation for reliability, transparency, and a commitment to doing business the right way. Stuart is passionate about promoting sustainability, circular economy principles, and the importance of supporting local initiatives that make a positive difference.
As a Patron of Accrington Stanley Community Trust, Stuart brings that same community-minded ethos to his support for programmes that encourage education, inclusion, and environmental awareness.
