Stanley V CancerÂ

Â
Stanley V Cancer is Accrington Stanley Community Trust’s weekly cancer support programme, officially re-launched in January following the success of a pilot project delivered over the past year. The programme was originally designed to support cancer prehabilitation, helping people prepare physically and mentally for treatment, and has now been expanded to include cancer rehabilitation, supporting individuals during and after treatment.
The sessions provide a safe, supportive and welcoming environment for people living with cancer, combining tailored physical activity with opportunities for social connection and wellbeing support. Sessions are delivered by experienced staff trained to work with individuals affected by cancer, ensuring activities are appropriate, inclusive and adaptable to individual needs and abilities.
Stanley V Cancer takes place every Wednesday from 10am to 12pm at Stanley Sports Hub and is open to anyone affected by cancer who would benefit from gentle, supported activity and peer support. The programme aims to improve physical confidence, reduce isolation and support overall wellbeing in a relaxed, community-based setting.
The project forms part of the wider V Cancer network, working alongside club charities including Blackburn Rovers, Burnley, Preston North End, Blackpool, Fleetwood Town, Morecambe and Barrow. The sessions are made possible through funding from a community fund of over half a million pounds, created from donations from the EFL, EFL in the Community and The FA, alongside continued support from the Lancashire and South Cumbria Cancer Alliance.
To register your interest in the session please fill out this online form and a member of the team will get in touch with more details.
