Accrington Stanley Community Trust (ASCT), the charitable arm of Accrington Stanley Football Club, has officially launched its ambitious new three-year strategy, setting out a transformative vision to improve the lives of local people through sport, education, health, and community engagement.
The Strategy for July 2025–June 2028 builds on over a decade of community impact and outlines ASCT’s commitment to driving meaningful change across Hyndburn, one of the most deprived boroughs in England. Developed through extensive consultation with stakeholders, partners, and residents, the strategy sets out five clear strategic aims, including:
- Improving health, wellbeing and life chances for local people
- Expanding access to inclusive sport, education and community programmes
- Operating and enhancing the £4 million Stanley Sports Hub
- Delivering high-quality services that are measurable and impactful
- Ensuring effective governance and financial sustainability
“This strategy is a bold step forward for our organisation and community,” said Martin Fearon, CEO of Accrington Stanley Community Trust. “We’ve listened to our local community, partners, and participants to ensure our work is shaped by the needs of Hyndburn. Whether it’s tackling inactivity, supporting disadvantaged groups, or helping young people thrive, our ambition is simple: to make a lasting, positive difference.”
The Trust currently engages over 20,000 people annually across more than 30 projects. Initiatives include educational qualifications, veterans’ provision, disability sport, school PE support, community health campaigns, and youth diversionary programmes.
Backed by strong partnerships with Accrington Stanley FC, Hyndburn Borough Council, and national funders such as EFL in the Community and the Premier League Charitable Fund, the strategy focuses on building inclusive, connected, and resilient communities.
