Accrington Stanley Community Trust partners with Victim Support

Accrington Stanley Community Trust is pleased to announce its new partnership with Victim Support who came to us searching for assistance for their young people during school holidays. We have been able to offer them spaces on our Holiday Activities and Food Programme.

The Holiday Activities & Food Programme (H.A.F) is a government funded project run through local councils and supported by local providers to provide what’s needed to help the community. The project aims to make free holiday course places available for children who are eligible for benefits-related free school meals and vulnerable young people during the school holidays aged 6-16. The H.A.F Programme will run over 4 days in April. The days available are 11th April – 14th April.

Gabby Sabatino, Head of Community Engagement commented, ‘this partnership allows us to help more families in the local area that may not know what programmes we offer. The support that is offered by Victim Support is vital to those that have been affected by crime and we are happy to help them where we can.’

Victim Support is a free, independent and confidential charity dedicated to supporting anyone affected by crime and traumatic incidents.  Jenine Simpson, Children and Young People Practitioner at Victim Support commented, ‘It is vital that vulnerable children and young people have the option of going to a safe place during the holidays when school is closed.  We are delighted that Accrington Stanley Community Trust have extended their H.A.F Programme to more children in the area who can benefit from the opportunity to meet friends, join in activities and have fun.’
