New ‘Game’ Area a Huge Success

This Saturday before the game against Stevenage we launched our brand new Game area in the sports bar.

This was a huge success with young fans having the opportunity to play the new FIFA 17 on big screens before the game. We have teamed up with Game Accrington to make the area happen and a huge thanks goes to them for providing us with consoles and games to be used throughout the season.

Hopefully the new area will attract more families to home games and in particular into the sports bar area where fans of both home and away teams are welcome.

This follows the very successful launch of FIFA 17 in September which saw Accrington Stanley first team players Shay McCartan and Aaron Chapman visit the Accrington store to play the console game against young fans.

More new activities are planned which will see regular FIFA Tournaments run from Accrington Stanley Football Club. The Trust’s holiday courses will now see regular Xbox and PlayStation competitions for the participants and they will be used at our weekly Redz Youth Club on a Wednesday.

Head of sport Lee Walsh ran the event on Saturday and was pleased with it how it went “we had children aged between 5 and 16 queuing up to have a go and there was plenty of positive feedback from parents who were able to enjoy a pint before the game”

Lee from GAME Accrington adds “This partnership provides a fantastic opportunity for GAME, as the UK’s leading videogames retailer, to support the local community, combining the passion of both gaming and football.
