Accrington Stanley Community Trust start our Football Education Scholarships on Tuesday 1st September 2015. We have a couple of places remaining for school leavers who have just received their GCSE results.
Staying at School or going to college is not always the right choice for everyone, but you can still gain a first class education that will get you to university by choosing neither of those. If the idea of staying on at school or going to college is not for you, then why not consider studying your education here at Accrington Stanley and play football for the club?
The course is based at Accrington Stanley Football Club in the newly refurbished hospitality lounge, with all matches taking place at Hyndburn Leisure Centre’s brand new 3G pitch. You will have 3 training sessions per week and wear Accrington Stanley match kit and training kit.
WHAT IS THE COURSE?
- BTEC Level 2 or Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport – Equivalent to 3 A-Levels.
- Full time 2 year course based at Accrington Stanley Football Club.
- 10 hours of education per week.
- 4/8 hours of football per week including training and matches.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
- Available to males aged 16, 17 or 18 who have achieved their GCSE’s.
- BTEC LEVEL 3 – A minimum of 4 GCSE’s or equivalent at C or above. Special dispensation may be available to people who don’t quite achieve this. BTEC LEVEL 2 – A minimum of 2 D grades.
