NCS is a once in a lifetime opportunity for all 16 & 17 year olds in England that builds your skills for work that employers look for in young people as well as life skills, whilst meeting new friends.
On the project you’ll have a short time away from home on an outdoor pursuit’s trip where you will experience all types of outdoor activities from rock climbing, kayaking, and bush craft just to name a few, which will turn you into an extreme survival expert just like Bear Grylls.
You will then have an opportunity to live as a student for a week at UClan in Preston where you will experience what it is like to be a modern day student, living independently and learning key life skills in the process.
Finally you will undertake a group project that is aimed at helping your community and local area thrive, improve and develop becoming bigger, better and stronger.
After all this you will come out of the project with a qualification that is approved by UCAS and can help on achieving your goal of moving onto University or College. As well as gaining skills that are recognised by employers which will aid you in any job application you put forward.
