Winstanley’s Health Mission

Winstanley’s Health Mission

In February Altham St James Primary School took part in Winstanley’s Healthy Lifestyle Mission.  This involved all the children taking part in fun, action packed activities, all with a healthy theme.

Pupils of all ages took part in extra PE lessons that got them thinking about eating healthier and exercising more. There was also a special guest on the day as Accrington Stanley’s mascot Winstanley made an appearance to cheer on the children.

The children also spent an afternoon taking part in a sponsored shoot-out! Money raised will help the school raise money to invest in school sport and also to help Accrington Stanley Community Trust as they continue to provide several accessible sporting opportunities across the local area. In total the school managed to raise £380, Sport development officer Lee Walsh explains ‘the money will be used to  support our community sessions that aim to get all corners of our community more active and healthy’

Headteacher at the school Carol Woods was pleased to get involved ‘it was a great day that the pupils really enjoyed, we are really pleased that the money raised will be used to help local people access sport in the area’

Accrington Stanley Community Trust would like to thank all the children and staff at Altham St James for their support with the project.
